Fast Braces vs Traditional Braces

In this video, Raymond G. Hatland, DDS, explains how his Fast Braces approach offers a gentler, quicker way to straighten teeth for both adults and younger patients.

I offer Fast Braces, a form of orthodontic treatment developed by Dr. Anthony Viazis. He trained in Boston and created a new approach that moves teeth more efficiently than conventional methods. I’ve practiced orthodontics for about 45 years, and I’ve used Fastbraces since 2006. In most cases, treatment time is reduced from more than two years to roughly one year or less.

Fast Braces is considered a holistic approach because of how the system moves teeth. It uses a flexible, square wire that applies force along the entire root surface, similar to the natural eruption forces that bring teeth into the mouth. Because the pressure is evenly distributed, patients experience little to no pain. This is different from traditional orthodontics, where pressure is concentrated on a single point and often causes discomfort after adjustments.

The technique is gentle, stable, and highly patient-friendly, even for adults who typically feel more discomfort with orthodontic movement. It also supports gum health, since tilted teeth can contribute to gum disease. The result is a straighter, healthier smile in a shorter timeframe.
